Don’t you just love having a perfectly balanced smoothie for after your workout? YES?
Don’t you absolutely love the refreshing taste of strawberries? YES?
So why not blend strawberries and herbs in a sweet and refreshing, mouth-watering smoothie?
I know it sounds strange, but strawberry and basil is a fantastic combination! This is a really light smoothie recipe, so perfect for after a workout, but it is still filling.
Strawberries are so good for the body! They are low in calories, rich in fiber and have anti-inflammatory properties. They are definitely excellent as a snack or in smoothies.
Not only that, but basil is an anti-inflammatory herb that also assists with digestion. It can also ease headaches and body aches! That’s the reason why it’s so great after a rigorous workout.
What a perfect combo!!!
This smoothie is an abundant source of vitamins B1 to B6, vitamin K, copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, as well as potassium.
I have to say, this combo is one my personal favorite smoothies to date, and will be on repeat all summer long. Strawberries are just coming back into season right now, so I’m taking them in huge amounts when I can, and also I suggest you make the most of berry season as well! (Maybe even go check out my post on where to find Local Farms to go pick your strawberries with your kiddos!)
